Draves<\/p><\/div>\nLayne Harpine, 44, of Emerald Isle, North Carolina, has joined the LERN staff as its new Senior Consultant in the area of workforce development and contract training.<br \/>\nHe will succeed Julia King Tamang as LERN\u2019s lead consultant in contract training after she enters a three year retreat in early 2015.<br \/>\nHarpine has a background in business, having worked as a corporate business consultant with Mobil Oil for several years.\u00a0 He also has taught and has been a higher education administrator for the past 14 years, with the last five years in executive leadership.\u00a0 He has been pursued for several college presidencies but chose to work with LERN.<br \/>\n\u201cWe are extremely fortunate to have someone of Layne\u2019s experience and expertise join the LERN team,\u201d\u00a0 noted LERN President William A.
